The company has established a strong presence in India's electric scooter market through the TVS iQube range and its expanding EV portfolio. TVS had already crossed the one-million combined electric two-wheeler sales milestone with Bajaj, Ather and Vida during the first eight months of 2026.
Bajaj Chetak Continues Its Strong Growth

Ather Holds Third Position
Ather Energy registered 30,477 electric two-wheelers in September.
The company crossed 8 lakh cumulative electric two-wheeler sales during September 2026. Its product range includes the Rizta and 450 series, while the newly launched Ather Konarc adds a more mass-market model to the portfolio.

The September numbers illustrate how the competitive structure of India's electric scooter market has changed. TVS, Bajaj and Vida together accounted for more than 60% of registrations during the first 28 days of September, while Ather and Ola held smaller shares.

India's EV Two-Wheeler Market in 2026
The September performance comes after a strong first eight months.
TVS, Bajaj, Ather and Vida had collectively crossed 10.38 lakh electric two-wheeler sales during January–August 2026, representing an 84% increase over the same period in 2025. The broader electric two-wheeler market had reached approximately 13.6 lakh units by the end of August.
Separate Vahan-based analysis puts January–September 2026 electric two-wheeler registrations at approximately 15.6 lakh units, already exceeding India's full-year 2025 volume.
What the September Numbers Show
The September results highlight several important trends:
1. Traditional two-wheeler manufacturers are gaining strength.
TVS, Bajaj and Hero's Vida are now major forces in India's electric two-wheeler market.
2. TVS and Bajaj are very close in monthly volume.
The two companies together accounted for almost half of the September registrations reported in the latest dataset.
3. Ather remains a significant premium and technology-focused player.
The company's 30,477 September registrations put it firmly among the leading manufacturers.
4. Competition is becoming broader.
Although the top four manufacturers account for a large share, numerous other manufacturers are collectively contributing a significant volume.
5. The festive season could become an important period for EV sales.
September's crossing of the two-lakh monthly level provides a strong base heading into the October festive-sales period.
