1. TVS iQube Becomes India's Best-Selling Electric Scooter

TVS iQube ranked first in September 2026, recording 45,320 units against 30,820 units in September 2025. This represents an increase of 14,500 units and 47.05% annual growth.

The iQube captured 24.28% of the electric scooter sales covered by the report. Its leading position is particularly noteworthy because it finished ahead of the closely competing Bajaj Chetak.

2. Bajaj Chetak Secures Second Position

Bajaj Chetak sold 42,394 units, registering 38.73% growth over the 30,558 units recorded a year earlier.

With a 22.71% market share, Chetak remained a major competitor to the iQube. The difference between the two models was just 2,926 units in September 2026.

Together, TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak accounted for approximately 47% of the reported electric scooter market.

3. Hero Vida Records Strong Growth

Hero Vida achieved third place with 28,862 units, compared with 15,329 units in September 2025.

Its annual growth rate reached 88.28%, adding 13,533 units over the previous year's figure. Vida held a 15.46% share of the total.

The strong performance placed Vida ahead of Ather Rizta and demonstrated the increasing competition among electric scooter manufacturers.

4. Ather Rizta and TVS Orbiter

Ather Rizta recorded 19,813 units, representing 4.73% annual growth. It retained fourth place with a 10.61% market share.

TVS Orbiter followed in fifth place with 17,027 units. Although the comparison table shows zero sales in September 2025, the model recorded substantial volume in September 2026 and contributed to TVS's overall electric scooter presence.

Combining TVS iQube and TVS Orbiter, the two models recorded 62,347 units, equivalent to approximately one-third of the total in the report.

5. River Indie and Other Fast-Growing Models

Several models recorded notable annual growth:

  • River Indie: 6,057 units, up 209.03%.
  • Ampere Reo: 2,047 units, up 275.60%.
  • Bajaj Yulu: 800 units, up 100%.
  • Ampere Magnus: 10,532 units, up 70.45%.
  • Ampere Nexus: 862 units, up 63.57%.

River Indie more than tripled its previous-year sales. Ampere Reo also posted substantial percentage growth, although its total sales remained considerably lower than those of the leading models.

Honda QC1 increased from just two units to 1,464 units. Its exceptionally high growth percentage reflects the very small comparison base, so the percentage should not be interpreted as equivalent to a large market share.

September 2026 was a strong month for India's electric scooter segment on a year-on-year basis. TVS iQube led the rankings, Bajaj Chetak remained a close competitor, and Hero Vida secured third place with impressive growth.

The emergence of TVS Orbiter among the top five, together with the growth of River Indie and other models, illustrates the increasingly competitive nature of the market.

TVS iQube was the clear sales leader in September 2026, but competition from Bajaj, Hero and Ather remains strong.
